Humpback: Incredible seafood at sundown

I wasn’t sure about this place at first. They made us put down a deposit of SG$25 to secure our booking for 5.30pm on a Friday, and then followed up on no fewer than three separate occasions to get further confirmation of our reservation. And even when I entered the place it immediately struck me as having one of those “we are trending so we don’t really need to try too hard” vibes. Yet I was happy to be proven wrong. The food was absolutely delicious. The scallop ceviche and Fat Bastard oysters were outstanding. I don’t even usually love oysters! The cocktails were a tad on the weak side though (don’t say I didn’t warn you!) so I’ll likely stick to the wines instead the next time I’m back for Happy Hour. This was nonetheless such a gorgeous meal overall that I’ve already made plans to return in a couple of weeks’ time.
